Dammam Creek Corniche
PVC Tensile Shade Structures — Al Olaya, Dammam – Khobar
Project overview
For the Eastern Province Municipality, TMSI supplied and installed the PVC tensile shade structures of the Dammam Creek Corniche, on the waterfront between Dammam and Al Khobar in the Al Olaya district. The work dates from 2026.
The shading is not one repeated canopy but a family of structures along the beach walkway: tensile sails stretched over curved white steel arches, flat shades with a cut-out pattern on turquoise columns, round umbrella shades, and a slatted oval pergola with a planted opening at its centre. The photos follow the work from the bare steel arches to the finished, fabric-covered shades.
PVC-coated fabric suits a public waterfront like this one: it can be patterned into curved forms, produced in a wide range of colours and installed on relatively light steelwork.
