Almana Park is the courtyard at Almana Group's hospital in Al Khobar. TMSI shaded it with several tensile canopies in PVC-coated fabric for Almana Group.
PVC-coated fabric is a versatile, cost-effective tensile membrane. It can be produced in a wide range of colours, patterned into curved forms and installed on relatively light steelwork, which makes it a practical choice for shading a hospital courtyard with a group of canopies rather than a single large roof.
TMSI approaches tensile fabric architecture as a collaborative process with the client, aiming for structures that are attractive, buildable and built to last. The in-house team covers design, engineering, manufacturing in the Dammam factory and installation. Every TMSI tensile design goes through form finding and finite element analysis, and the resulting load calculations set the size of the foundations and steelwork and the pre-stress of the fabric.
