Project overview
In 2018, TMSI delivered 32 tensile tents in PVDF fabric for Saudi Aramco, with a total area of 1,594 m².
Tensile tent structures are engineered for industrial, remote-site and public-space use, and are designed to handle high loads and harsh environments. PVDF-coated fabric combines long-term UV resistance with architectural flexibility, and its top coat helps the membrane resist dirt and weathering — practical for tents that stand in full sun on operational sites. Fabric panels are patterned, cut and joined in the Dammam factory so that the tents in a multi-tent order are consistent.
TMSI's in-house team covers design, engineering, manufacturing and installation. Every TMSI tensile design goes through form finding and finite element analysis, and the resulting load calculations set the size of the foundations and steelwork and the pre-stress of the fabric.
