Aramco Project — 32 Tents · 2016

In 2016, TMSI delivered 32 PVDF tensile tents for Saudi Aramco, with a total area of 1,594 m². The tents were distributed across a number of Aramco sites: PS1, PS3, PS6, PS8, PS9, KM30, Main Fadli, Qassim, Domairiah, Kabshan, Haradh and Yanbu.

Tensile tent structures are engineered for industrial, remote-site and public-space use, and are designed to handle high loads and harsh environments. Supplying tents to many dispersed locations depends on factory preparation: fabric panels are patterned, cut and joined in the Dammam factory, so the membrane arrives on each site ready for installation. PVDF-coated fabric adds long-term UV resistance for tents standing in full desert sun.

TMSI's in-house team covers design, engineering, manufacturing and installation. Every TMSI tensile design goes through form finding and finite element analysis, and the resulting load calculations set the size of the foundations and steelwork and the pre-stress of the fabric.
