Souq 7 project

Souq 7 in Jeddah is a shade project of more than 2,000 m² built with PVDF mesh fabric. The project is dated 2023.

A PVDF-coated mesh is an open-weave membrane: it filters sunlight and gives usable shade while allowing air to move through the fabric, which keeps the space beneath ventilated — a practical choice for an open commercial setting in Jeddah's humid climate. The PVDF coating adds long-term UV resistance and helps the fabric shed dirt and keep its appearance.

TMSI's in-house team covers design, engineering, manufacturing in the Dammam factory and installation of tensile fabric structures. Every TMSI tensile design goes through form finding and finite element analysis, and the resulting load calculations set the size of the foundations and steelwork and the pre-stress of the fabric.
