HDPE Fabric Car Parking
Project overview
For Beijing Construction Engineering Group in Dammam, TMSI delivered car park shade structures in HDPE fabric covering more than 4,500 m². The project dates from 2020.
HDPE shade net is a knitted, breathable fabric: hot air escapes through it rather than being trapped under the canopy, which keeps parked vehicles cooler, and it is an economical way to cover large parking areas. HDPE is UV-stabilised for long outdoor exposure, which suits open car parks in the Eastern Province.
Car park shades are TMSI's largest product line, with more than 300,000 m² delivered across Saudi Arabia and the region; the in-house team covers design, engineering, manufacturing in the Dammam factory and installation. Every TMSI tensile design goes through form finding and finite element analysis, and the resulting load calculations set the size of the foundations and steelwork and the pre-stress of the fabric.
